Honeyberry (Lonicera caerulea var. edulis)
Attractive small bushes are a member of the Honeysuckle family and are native to Japan and Russia. One of the earliest fruits to ripen they are productive of tasty blue fruits similar to blueberries. Very hardy they can take temperatures down to minus 40 degrees and are easy to grow with no disease or pest problems. It is important to plant two varieties of the same bloom group, early or late, for good pollination. Late blooming varieties are the most reliably productive for mild winter areas, and either type is good for cold winter regions.
Very sweet, flavorful, large light blue berries are born on an attractive compact bush. This productive variety is an early blooming type from Siberia.
