Magnificent native evergreen tree growing from northern coastal California up north into Alaska and east to western Montana. Can grow up to 200' tall along the coast, but usually grows more in the 50 to 100' range in garden situations. Beautiful drooping dark green foliage and fibrous red-brown bark make them a very attractive and stately tree for a lawn specimen and are a great addition to the woodlot. Loves a moist soil location. Very long lived and healthy tree. Beautiful, fragrant and rot resistant wood. Hardy zones 5 through 9.
