Beautiful large spreading trees have leaves that are divided into many leaflets making for a soft feathery appearance. Walnuts make a great long lived shade tree and produce rich delicious and nutritious nuts. They are deep rooted fast growing, appreciate fertile soil and moisture, but can withstand considerable drought once established.
Stately native tree grows 30-60 feet tall and wide and produce round hard shelled nuts that have delicious rich flavor. Also used as a rootstock for English walnuts. Zones 7-9.
