This shiny reddish-brown, date like fruit, has a sweet apple flavor. Fruit is noteworthy for its remarkably high sugar content. When candied and dried they resemble dates. Fruits are 1.5-2 inches long, elongated and plump, and require a hot summer for fruit to ripen. These jujube do well in desert areas. Ripens mid to late September. Mature height is 15-20 feet with a spread of 15-20 feet.
