We are blessed here in Northern California and the Northwest as a whole to have an unusually rich and diverse flora of native plants, which can be grown as part of our garden landscapes. Besides their unique beauty Natives are well adapted to our climate and soil types and can be grown with very little added fertilizer or water. These plants are also the natural home and food source of our native birds and critters, who have already lost so much of their original habitat. By planting Natives we strengthen the natural web of life and our connection to the environment that sustains us.
